![]() ![]() Since 1994, the restaurant has been the recipient of the Wine Spectator Grand Award. Patina relocated to the Walt Disney Concert Hall in 2003. Splichal opened Patina in 1989 in Hollywood with his wife Christine, an international business expert. In the years that followed, he worked at the Seventh Street Bistro and began Max Au Triangle. Splichal moved to the United States in 1981 to serve as Executive Chef at the Regency Club in Los Angeles. Maximin became Splichal's mentor and during this period he began to win many culinary awards, including the "Youngest and Most Creative Chef" title from the Cercle Epicurean Society. ![]() At age 23, Splichal was hired as a sous chef by Jacques Maximin to work at the Chantecler restaurant in the Hotel Negresco in Nice. In his early twenties, he moved to France to start his culinary training, working as a saucier at La Bonne Auberge, a Michelin-starred restaurant in Antibes in southeastern France. Inspired by their shared love of food and travel, they opened Pizza Ponte a favorite of Disney Springs locals for a quick bite any time of the day or night. At age 18, he began in the hotel industry, working at leading hotels in Canada, Morocco, Israel, Sweden, Norway, and Switzerland. Joachim Splichal was born and raised in Spaichingen, Germany. Naples Ristorante e Bar is an Italian restaurant and bar in Downtown Disney, Anaheim serving pizza with outdoor dining in a fun family atmosphere. Splichal is best known for his fine dining restaurant Patina located in the Walt Disney Concert Hall (formerly on Melrose Avenue), his chain of Pinot restaurants, and the Patina Restaurant Group. Patina Restaurant Group and Catering celebrates the art of a wedding by combining award-winning cuisine and legendary personalized service to create awe-inspiring and momentous occasions. It also operates signature restaurants at Walt Disney World in Florida, both at EPCOT and Disney Springs, and at Downtown Disney in California. Four years later in 1995, he was inducted into their "Who's Who of Food & Beverage in America". The tour of Maria and Enzo's started off with a bang! Before we explored the restaurants, the executives of Disney Springs and The Patina Restaurant Group stood on stage to express the amount of hard work and dedication that went into making this new chain of restaurants. With that being said The Patina Restaurant Group has been a major presence in the Walt Disney Company for many years. They created the wonderful Asian dining experience at Disney Springs, Morimoto Asia, and two of our favorite restaurants at EPCOT in Italy, Via Napoli Ristorante E Pizzeria and Tutto Italia Ristorante! The Patina Restaurant Group has also created a great load of restaurants at Downtown Disney in California including Taqueria, Tortilla Jo's, Naples Ristorante E Pizzeria, and many more.
